I was a little bit nervous, but very excited for the Summer Advantage here at High Point. I went to boarding school for three years, so I am used to being away from home, but for meeting new people and making new friends, it was completely a fresh start. That was one thing I was looking forward to. Getting a head start meeting people. I have made a lot of good friends already, and only about 15% of our grade is here in the summer. I’ve met a lot of people that are living in my dorm next year, along with my suitemates who are pretty chill. I am talking two classes and one sport. Talking About Freedom is a history class in which we learn the history of freedom, such as the constitution and court cases. This is much better than my ADV class. What we basically do is just learn bigger words to describe very easy concepts. I haven’t really learned much in that class, maybe I just have got to have a better attitude about it. One activity I loved in that class though is where we did a test to figure out our personality and how we learn. Results came out pretty accurate, and surprisingly it described me pretty well.
